# What's in the box

## Why one Stick has ambient and the other doesn't

When you're running two Sticks on the same cook (a brisket and ribs on the same smoker, two steaks at different doneness, mains and sides in the oven), you only need **one** ambient temperature reading — the cook environment is the same for both proteins. So the V Duo Set pairs one ambient-equipped Stick (the V Prime Stick) with one non-ambient Stick (the V Core Stick) instead of duplicating the ambient sensor unnecessarily.

Both Sticks have the same internal-temperature accuracy and sensor count — the only difference is the ambient sensor on the V Prime Stick.

## The on-base LCD display

The V Duo Base is the only V Series base with a built-in screen — temperatures visible at a glance from across the patio, no need to keep your phone with you at the grill. The phone is still there for cloud monitoring when you want it; you just don't need it for at-the-grill checks.
