Your V Duo Set has three pieces: two Sticks — a V Prime Stick and a V Core Stick — and the V Duo Smart Base with its LCD screen. First-time setup takes about 15 minutes.
Plug the Duo Base into a power source with the included USB-C cable and let it charge for at least 1 hour before first use. It has its own battery, so it doesn't need to stay plugged in during the cook.
Place both Sticks into the base's two cradles. They seat magnetically and charge automatically — give them about an hour before first use.
Brand-new Sticks look dead? That's normal. They ship in a low-voltage protection state. About 10 seconds on the powered base clears it, and they wake when you lift them off.

Activate each Stick by lifting it off the base, then pair both in the app. Assign each one a color so you can tell them apart on the grill and on the LCD.
One Stick has an ambient sensor (the V Prime Stick) and one doesn't (the V Core Stick). That's by design — when both Sticks are in the same cook, you only need one ambient reading for the shared cook environment.
Push each Stick into the thickest part of its cut, up to the line on the steel shaft. Set each cook in the app — or just watch the temperatures on the base's LCD screen, no phone required.
Read temps at a glance on the LCD, or check from anywhere over WiFi. Keep the base within about 6 feet of the Sticks for a reliable signal. For cloud setup, see Monitoring your cook over WiFi.
