My Stick won't connect or show temperature
Last updated
Most connection problems come down to one of three things: Bluetooth, charge level, or dirty contacts. Work through these in order.
Restart your phone. This clears most Bluetooth hiccups.
Check the charge. A nearly-dead Stick won't connect. Put it back on its base or charger for at least an hour, then try again.
Clean the contacts. Wipe the round metal cap and the stainless steel shaft until they look like bare steel, not black. Soot and grease block both charging and pairing.
If your Stick still doesn't appear, fill out a ticket in the app and our Support Team will help.
If the Stick is visible in the app but isn't reading a temperature:
Take the Stick off the charger. A Stick only sends temperature once it's lifted off the base or charger — on the charger it stays quiet. Look at the Now Cooking page after removing it.
Restart your phone and update the app to the latest version.
Seeing internal temperature but no ambient temperature? That's usually expected before the cook gets going — see Why don't I see ambient temperature before cooking starts.
If you've done all this and still see no temperature, reach out — fill out a ticket in the app.
