My Stick won't charge
Charging problems almost always come down to dirty contacts, a wet Stick, or an unpowered base. Run through these in order.
Clean the contacts. Wipe the round metal cap and the steel shaft until they look like bare steel, not soot. Residue is the #1 cause of failed charging.
Make sure the Stick is dry. Never put a wet Stick on the charger — dry it off so the contacts connect.
Confirm the base or charger has power. Check the USB-C cable is seated and the outlet is live. Your base or charger should show a charging light — see your device's page for what its LED means: V Smart Base · V Duo Smart Base · V Charge Stack · V WiFi Hub.
Seat the Stick correctly. The contacts seat magnetically — let it settle into position rather than forcing it.
Give it a full hour. A deeply drained Stick can take time before it shows progress in the app.
Brand-new Stick that seems dead? That's expected. New Sticks ship in a low-voltage protection state. Leave it on a powered charger for about 10 seconds and the protection state clears — then it wakes when you lift it off.
If it still won't charge after cleaning, drying, and a full hour on a confirmed-powered charger, fill out a ticket in the app and our Support Team will help.
