# How do I update the firmware?

We push firmware updates to improve accuracy, signal strength, and battery life. When a new version is tested and stable, you can update your Stick right from the app. A few things to know:

**Notification Indication:**\
If new firmware is available for update, a red notification bubble will appear on the menu icon. ***Make sure you're logged into your App account to view this notification.***

**Accessing the Firmware Update:**\
Open the menu to access the firmware update tutorial for your Stick. Simply click on the notification to initiate the tutorial.

**How long it takes:**\
An update needs a few minutes of attention — don't start one right before you're about to cook.
