Why is it necessary to allow Location Services?

Due to popular request, our newer products no longer require Location Services permissions.

This permission is only required if you have one of our older products (Red Series) or are using an Android phone with version 11 and below.

Why Location Services are Needed

• Bluetooth Transmission: The app requires Location Services to actively search for Bluetooth transmissions from the Stick.

For iOS Users

1. Apple Approval:

   • Apple has tested our app and confirmed that Location Services are necessary for it to function.

   • Only the Bluetooth listening service is used, not other location services.

2. Settings Recommendation:

   • Set Location Services to "Always" when using the app to ensure continuous temperature signal reception, even when the app is in the background.

   • You can disable Location Services when the app is not in use.

3. iBeacon Technology:

   • To collect the MAC-Address for Bluetooth access, Apple requires permanent Location Services.

   • Proof of necessity was provided to Apple, allowing the app on the App Store.

4. Turning Off Location Services:

   • You can turn off Location Services in iPhone settings when not using the app. Upon restarting the app, it will prompt for permission again.

For Android Users

• MAC-Address Requirement:

  • Bluetooth requires the MAC-Address, which needs your permission for permanent location access.

You always have the free choice of what you want to Allow or not and it is freely adjustable.
