# What does The MeatStick charger / X charger's LED indicate?

Understanding the LED indications on The MeatStick and The MeatStick X chargers is essential. (Also applicable to the MeatStick Mini, The MeatStick 4, and the MeatStick Chef series)

Here's what you need to know:

**Charging Stick:**

* Place the Stick on the charger and press the button. The LED turns green or red based on the charger's battery status.

* LED stays on while the Stick is charging and turns off once fully charged.
* If the LED flashes green followed by five red flashes, the charger can't detect the Stick. Clean the Stick and charger contact points. If the issue persists, [contact Support](https://tms.fyi/help).

**Xtender Mode Activation:**

* After pressing the button and removing the Stick, the charger enters Xtender Mode (Bluetooth signal amplifier), indicated by a slow flashing LED.
* Xtender mode deactivates after 30 minutes if no Stick signal is detected.

* If the LED flashes green followed by twenty red flashes, there might be an issue with the Stick. [Contact Support](https://tms.fyi/help).

**Priority of LED Indications:**

* Solid green (charging status) takes precedence over flashing green (Xtender mode).
* After charging completes, the LED switches to flashing green if Xtender mode is active

**Switching Modes:**

* Placing another Stick on the charger without pressing the button maintains Xtender mode without charging.
* Pressing the button initiates both charging and Xtender mode, changing the LED from flashing green to solid green.

These LED indications ensure you're well-informed about your charger's status.
