# Why won't my Stick connect?
If you're encountering difficulty connecting your Stick to the app, it might be due to the following reasons:
**Incorrect Placement on Charger:**
* Ensure the round metal cap of the Stick touches the metal spring of the charger.
Correct Stick placement on the MeatStick Mini charger
**Bluetooth Issues:**
* Restart your phone to resolve potential Bluetooth problems.
**Location Permissions:**
* Check your phone's settings to ensure the MeatStick app has "Always" location permissions.
**Insufficient Charging:**
* Make sure the Stick is sufficiently charged and [the contact points are clean](/cooking-and-care/cooking-and-care/cleaning-your-stick.md). Place the Stick back on the charger and press the button to initiate charging. Let it charge until the LED turns off before attempting to connect again.
