Monitoring your cook over WiFi
WiFi is what lets you check a cook from the grocery store, the office, or bed during an overnight smoke — not just from the backyard. Here's how it works on the V Series.
Where the WiFi lives
WiFi is built into the base or hub, not the Stick. The Stick talks to the base over Bluetooth; the base connects to your home WiFi and streams the cook to the MeatStick Cloud. From there it reaches your phone anywhere with internet.
That means cloud monitoring is available on the sets with a WiFi-capable base:
V Prime Set — V Smart Base
V Duo Set — V Duo Smart Base
V Forge Set — V WiFi Hub
The V Core Set is Bluetooth-only (phone-direct), so it doesn't do cloud monitoring on its own. Add it to a set with a WiFi base, or step up to one of the above.
Setting it up
In the MeatStick App, tap Add device and put your base in pairing mode.
Pick your WiFi network and enter the password.
The base joins WiFi and starts sending cook data to the cloud.
2.4 GHz only. The base connects to 2.4 GHz networks, not 5 GHz. Most home routers broadcast both on the same name — if pairing won't find your network, put your phone on the 2.4 GHz band during setup. Once paired, the base remembers the network; you won't re-pair every cook.
No dongles, no separate gateway, and no monthly subscription — cloud monitoring is included.

If your WiFi drops mid-cook
You don't lose the cook. The base keeps streaming temperature to your phone over Bluetooth whenever the phone is in range. You only lose the remote window until WiFi comes back. To keep the Bluetooth link solid, keep the base within about 6 feet of the Stick — see Range and connection drops.
