How accurate are the sensors?

Every MeatStick V Series Stick is calibrated to NIST standards with a 4-point factory calibration at 32°F, 95°F, 158°F, and 185°F (0°C, 35°C, 70°C, 85°C). Internal sensor accuracy is ±0.4°F (±0.2°C) across the cooking range.

Each Stick carries 5 internal temperature sensors distributed along the length of the probe so you can monitor both the surface and the core of your meat at the same time. V Prime Sticks add a sixth sensor for ambient (oven/pit) temperature; V Core Sticks pair with the wired ambient probe in the V Forge Set for grate-level ambient measurement.

Build & durability

  • 1200°F ceramic handle — survives reverse sears, sear-then-rest workflows, and pizza-oven conditions.

  • IP69K-class water resistance — engineered to IP69K conditions and validated by internal thermal-shock testing (heat cycle → ice-water plunge). Outlasts probes from brands that publish IP69K specs.

  • 50+ hour battery life — long enough for overnight briskets, pork shoulders, and competition cooks.
