# Which V Series set is right for me?

All four V Series sets share the same app, the same accuracy, and the same ecosystem — start with one and add more whenever you want. The difference is **how you cook** and **how you want to monitor**.

## Quick answer

| If you mostly… | Get the… | Why |
| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Want the simplest way into V Series, or are adding a Stick to a setup you own | **V Core Set** | One Stick + stackable charger. Pairs straight to your phone over Bluetooth. The building block for going multi-Stick. |
| Grill, sear, roast, sous vide — everyday cooking | **V Prime Set** | One Stick reads meat *and* cook-environment temperature. Adds WiFi so you can step away. The all-rounder. |
| Cook two things at once and want temps without your phone | **V Duo Set** | Two Sticks + a base with an LCD screen. Great for multi-protein cooks and gifting. |
| Smoke low-and-slow, run a kamado or pellet grill, do long overnight cooks | **V Forge Set** | A separate Wired Ambient Probe reads pit temperature right at the grate — accurate where it matters most. |

## A little more detail

* **V Core Set** — the entry point and the expansion block. No WiFi, no smart base; your phone is the receiver, so keep it near the cooker. Add Core Sets anytime to run more Sticks on one app. → [What's in the box](/v-core-set/v-core/whats-in-the-box.md)
* **V Prime Set** — the hero for most cooks. The V Prime Stick has a built-in ambient sensor, so a single Stick covers both meat and cook environment. The Smart Base adds range and WiFi cloud monitoring. → [What's in the box](/v-prime-set/v-prime/whats-in-the-box.md)
* **V Duo Set** — two Sticks plus the only V Series base with an LCD screen, so you can read temps at a glance without your phone. → [What's in the box](/v-duo-set/v-duo/whats-in-the-box.md)
* **V Forge Set** — built for the long cooks. Instead of reading ambient on the Stick (where cold meat skews it), the Forge clips a Wired Ambient Probe at grate level for true pit temperature, plus a WiFi Hub for cloud monitoring. → [The V Forge family](/v-forge-set/v-forge.md)

## Still deciding between two?

The most common cross-shop is Prime vs Forge — see [V Forge Set vs. V Prime Set](/buying-help-and-warranty/buying-and-warranty/v-forge-vs-v-prime.md) for a head-to-head.

Whatever you start with, every V Series Stick and base works together on the same app. You can always [add more Sticks](/v-forge-set/v-forge/adding-more-sticks.md) later.
